 Beginning Band provides Joseph Sims Elementary students the opportunity to be involved in a fun and educational extracurricular musical activity.
No previous musical experience is needed as this class starts from the very beginning of musical training.
Beginning Band Class meets:
Mondays and Wednesdays:
2:30-3:30PM in the multipurpose room.
In Beginning band class students learn the fundamentals of music theory and basics of instrumental performance.
By the end of the class students will be able to read music (notes and rhythms) as well dynamics and articulation at musical grade level 1.5 and perform them on a band instrument.
Band Instruments offered:
Woodwinds: Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon and Saxophone
Brass: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba
Percussion: Drums & Mallets (Both required) Bass Guitar
Sorry, no violin or electric guitar.
